How to sew a Penny Pincher Pin Pillow

Hey y’all and welcome to Sewspire!

Today I am here to show you how to sew this darling cupcake pin cushion.

For this project you will need the following materials:

Assorted quilt weight cotton remnants

12” of 1/4 cording

20+ pennies to weight the base (hence the name)

Pellon 808 or 809 interfacing

Poly-fil or fluffy stuffing

Small felt ball

Button craft thread

Needle to hand sew

Pattern pieces:

For the top and the base, cut two 4” circles and back with Pellon 808 or use two 4” felt rounds and omit the piping

For the piping, cut one, 3” x 12” strip on the bias

For the body, cut one, 3” x 11” strip and back with Pellon 808

For the wrapper, cut one, 3” x 24” strip

Your finished project will measure approximately 3.5” in diameter and 2” tall.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial and will share photos with me on Instagram and Facebook using #sewspire and @sewspire.

Until we meet again, please know, the creative genius in me will be celebrating the creative genius in you!
