How to sew a large drawstring beach bag tote

Beach Bag Collaboration: Final Segment

Hey y’all and welcome to Sewspire!

Today I am here to show you how to finish our fabulous Drawstring Beach Bag Tote. I am absolutely thrilled with the finished design and can hardly wait to see your big gorgeous beach bags.

For this portion of the project you will need a very long piece of cotton fabric which measures: 6″ wide by 65″ long. I stitched together two pieces of material to attain the desired length. You will also need 48″ of 1.5″ cotton webbing, cut into two 24″ lengths, for the bag handles and a piece of cotton cording that measures 80″ in length and approximately 1/4″ in diameter.

As mentioned throughout the series, I am going to be giving away this finished beach bag to one lucky Happy Mail subscriber. To enter, all you need to do is click on the Happy Mail tab and input your name and email. I will announce the winner in the next video and send a follow up email as well.

Good luck everyone!

Until we meet again, please know the creative genius in me celebrates the creative genius in you!

Blissfully yours,

Today we are beginning to sew our Collaborative Beach Bag. I tallied up the requests and it looks like we’ll be making a family sized cotton bag with webbed handles. Inside we’ll be incorporating a large zippered wet bag which we are crafting in this video and a mesh pocket which we’ll fashion in the next segment.
