Hey y’all and welcome to Sewspire! Today I am demonstrating how to sew a medium size reusable fabric gift bag. This particular design is unique in that it allows the top closure to conceal and secure the contents (think tissue paper) without hardware. The slim straps are practical and allow for easy embellishment with a coordinating tag.
In addition to the step by step video tutorial below, for your convenience, I have created a PDF Design Board with the pattern measurements and concise instructions which you can purchased in my new Pattern Shop:
For this project you will need to precut the following pattern pieces:
(4) 12″ x 12″ Body Panels
(4) 10″ x 6″ flap panels
(2) 3″ x 18″ straps
I hope you enjoyed this project and will join me next Tuesday at 2 p.m. ET for another fun and inspiring sewing project! Until then, you know the creative genius in me will be celebrating the creative genius in you!
Lots of love,
P.S. You might also enjoy making this smaller gift box 🙂
