Been There Done That Tote Bag — Pattern & Tutorial

Hey y’all and welcome to the Sewspire Sewing Inspiration Channel! My name is Andrea and today I am here to show you how to sew what I have affectionately dubbed my Been There Done That Tote.

For this project you will need 1/2 yard of two different colors of duck/twill/denim/home decor 54″ fabric and 1/2 yard of 44″ quilt weight cotton fabric.

Precut the following pattern pieces:

(2) 5″ x 13″ exterior base accent panels
(2) 11″ x 13″ exterior top accent panels
(4) 2.5″ x 30″ handles
(2) 15″ x 13″ interior panels

The finished measurements of this tote are approximately 8″ across the base, 12″ across the top, 4″ deep, 11″ tall, 9″ folded with a 6″ handle drop.

If you want longer handles, cut those 4 pieces to measure 2.5″ x 40″.

I hope that you are feeling inspired to sew something today and that you enjoyed this sewing tutorial. I would love it if you would share photos with me of your creation(s) on Instagram and Facebook using #sewspire and @sewspire. Keep an eye on both my Instagram and Facebook accounts this week for an opportunity to win a set of 12 bobbin clips:
