How to sew a fabric luggage tag

Hey y’all and welcome back to Sewspire!

This week we are making fabric luggage tags which can be attached to your suitcase, backpack or tote when traveling. Like many of my projects this one comes together very quickly and is fun to make. There is a slip pocket in the back which will fit a standard size business card with horizontal positioning — just perfectly! Or, if it is easier, you an precut a piece of card stock to measure 3.25″ wide x 2.25″ tall and note your contact info on that. The finished tag measures approximately 3.5″ wide by 5.5″ tall with a 5″ handle that can be used to loop the tag around your bag.

For this project you will need to use a heavier twill fabric, such as the Premier Prints. For your convenience I have prepared ten precut kits in assorted Premier Prints which you can purchase for $3 each here.  All sales from the sewing kits will help me offset the costs associated with running this blog.

Many thanks watching and for your continued enthusiasm! Our community is growing and I am looking forward to moving into our new studio in 2 weeks! I’ve done my best to improve the audio in this video. Please let me know if you need me to make further sound quality adjustments.

Until next time…happy sewing and lots of love!
