How to sew a Wristlet Clutch

Hey y’all and welcome back to Sewspire!

This sassy little clutch is crafted from fabric scraps and designed to be worn on the wrist. It is unique in that the strap is elasticized to offer a snug yet comfy fit. I love it because it is perfectly sized for date night and chid free errands with just enough room for my phone, lip gloss and keys.

For this project you will need a handful of coordinating cotton fabric remnants precut to the following specifications:

Exterior body:

2.5″ x 10″ (cut 4)

2″ x 10″ (cut 2)

Plus two pieces of quilt batting that measure 10″ x 5″

Interior body:

5.5″ x 10″ (cut 2)

Front flap closure:

5″ x 4″ (cut 2)

5″ x 2″ (cut 1)

Interior flap closure:

5″ x 8.5″ (cut 1)

Plus one piece of quilt batting that measures 5″ x 8.5″

Elasticized strap:

3″ x 16″ (cut 1)

Plus a 10″ piece of 1/2″ elastic

The finished clutch measures approximately 8.5″ x 4.5″
